Fruit from Hyde Red Barn Ranch in Carneros and Quercus Vineyard in Lake County, 367 cases. An entertaining, intriguing character of a grape, witty and engaging and a bit feisty, with a certain attitude about its offspring Cabernet Sauvignon getting too much of the spotlight. Ripe plum and strawberry play against tangy acidity and the underlying herbal essence of the varietal. Cultured and a bit opinionated without being brassy.
