Tasting notes
Late Harvest translates Spätlese, a special selection of the ripest grapes of the harvest. In the United States these are often very sweet, but the focus here is the ripeness of the fruit rather than the residual sugar. It is a legally protected term: no sugar can be added to increase sweetness or alcohol. A lush vintage balancing soft acid structure against big fruit intensity, with peach nectar, pomelo and pineapple leading to a creamy, honeyed texture and a finish of Meyer lemon and grapefruit zest.
